Whilst agreeing to this in principle the Trustees know from the experience of expanding into Hertfordshire that for any such move to be successful sufficient funds need to be raised to underwrite both the set-up costs and the operating costs for the first year.
In real terms this means that £100,000 needs to be secured. The good news is that we are on our way! A donation of £25,000 from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Road Safety Partnership has been enhanced by a grant of £49,000 (over 2 years) from the Ministry of Justice Victims Fund.
At present we are waiting to find out if an application to the Big Lottery will be successful. However, even if the lottery funds are secured, there will be a gap in funding.
How can you help turn this ambition into a reality?
Make a donation – You can do this by clicking here DONATE Alternatively you can send a cheque to: The Road Victims Trust, 146 Bedford Road, Kempston, MK42 8BH.
Organise an event – This is a great way of raising awareness of the Road Victims Trust as well as generating funds (and hopefully having fun!).For advice on how to do this please contact Louise Stafford, the Trust Administrator on 01234 843345.
Volunteer – Once the necessary funds are raised we will be seeking to train people who have a counselling background to act as the primary source of support to our clients.Other voluntary support is also welcome. If you want to find out more click here VOLUNTEERS.
Practical support – Rather than offering financial support can you help with: office space in Cambridgeshire, office furniture, IT or other equipment? If so please contact Steve Ottaway, the Chief Executive on 01234 843345.
To discuss this project and any ideas you have for how you can help please contact Steve Ottaway, the Chief Executive on 01234 843345.
