Gala Concert 2008
On the 14th March 2008, the Philharmonia Orchestra once again came to play at the Bedford Corn Exchange in aid of the Road Victims Trust Charity Gala Concert.
Alexander Lazarev was the conductor with Arabella Steinbacher as soloist on the violin. The Concert programme included: Rossini - Overture, L'italiana in Algeri Mendelssohn - Violin Concerto in E minor Rachmaninov - Symphony No.2 in E minor The Road Victims Trust (RVT) was founded in response to an identified need for professional, holistic and therapeutic support for people bereaved or seriously injured in road collisions. Underpinning all our work is the recognition that early and continuing support is an essential prerequisite to enable bereaved and traumatised people to meet the emotional, practical and legal challenges facing them. As a registered charity with no statutory funding it is vital we secure funds through such events as this prestigous Gala Concert. We would like to thank all those companies and individuals who have so generously supported us over the past 11 years, in particular those who have given time and money to support our Annual Gala Concert - fundraising and pleasure combined! Put simply: without your support we would not exist
